Toddler Time: Lid Collection

Olive's current favorite toy is trash.
Well, not exactly trash, I guess it is a collection of items from the recycling.  She's obsessed with LIDS of all shapes and sizes.
I noticed she was interested in them when she'd help me in the kitchen so I started saving plastic lids of all colors, shapes and sizes.  I found an ice cream container to keep them all in and she thinks it's the best toy ever.  Don't burst her bubble and tell her she's playing with trash - haha.

Here's what you'll need to make the best toy ever:
-around 30 different lids that are big enough they won't be choking hazards and I only used plastic since some metal lids have sharp edges
-one large container to store them all in
that's all :)

I saved butter tub lids, sour cream lids, peanut butter lids, milk caps, baby food container lids, peanut jar lids, sports drinks, pickle lids.

I keep this bucket under the sink for Olive and she gets it out anytime I'm cooking in the kitchen.  She loves to scatter them everywhere and fill the bucket only to dump them a second later.  Sometimes I sit with her and we talk about colors, shapes and I practice sorting and counting them with her.  She thinks it's funny for now, but I'm hoping she'll eventually catch on to our little learning games.
