Independent Menu

I've been working hard to come up with an independent menu that my older kids can make on their own.  I practiced with them many times and now they are in charge of making lunches on the weekends.  Sometimes they even offer to make mom and dad lunch!

The menu is simple, but their kitchen confidence is growing!  I started with foods that they love to eat.  They were so excited to learn to make their favorite things.

They can make things like:

Fried eggs & toast

Avocado toast & eggs

Scrambled eggs

Omelet with toppings and toast

Grilled Cheese

Soup and grilled cheese

Ramen

Lo Mein

PBJ

Apple slices & Peanut butter

Blueberry muffins

They are mastering things like turning on the stove top to the proper temp to cook without burning, greasing a pan, using the toaster without getting burned, figuring out the proper utensil for the job, reheating leftovers to the correct temp and flipping an egg or a sandwich in a skillet.  We have also worked on kitchen safety with knives, turning on and off the stove top and letting things cool before we wash them.

It makes me so happy to think of them as young adults with a menu of items they feel confident cooking for themselves or for friends.  Next on our radar is boiling pasta, baking frozen things in the oven and maybe a few things in the air fryer.

What else should I add to their menu of things to learn??

Bell's Palsy

Remember back in December when I said I had some weird health stuff going on?

It was wild and I'm finally ready to talk about it.

December 9 - I woke up with a really stiff neck. I thought I slept on it funny.  It was very painfu for days.

December 11 - ugly sweater day at work!  I sent a friend this picture and thanked her for the pretty bow earrings in the morning.

Half way through the day, here's where things got weird.
My lips and tongue went all tingly.
My left side of my whole face was tingling.
My left eye nearly swelled shut.
My heart was racing.
All while I was teaching.
My students were totally unaware that I wasn't feeling well and I was really thankful to have an assistant who could take over for me.

I tried not to panic, but I was panicking.

I replayed everything I ate and everything I encountered to see if I was allergic to anything new.  I googled symptoms and tried hard to convince myself that I wasn't having a stroke.  I left the classroom and called Kevin.  My heart was racing and I felt awful.  I couldn't figure out if I was having an allergic reaction or what.  I visited the school nurse where she gave me allergy meds.  Then I decided I had to go home after chatting with my principal.  I zoomed home and went to bed.

Leaving school after making arrangements for the boys to get home.  I texted my team and asked them to pray for me.

Things didn't get worse for the next couple of days.  My eye stayed swollen and then my face was so tingly.  My neck and arms also went tingly.  I would wake up with my arms being numb.  It was just alarming.  My sister has had Bell's Palsy so I kept sending her goofy pictures like this one to check on my face movement.  The only thing that got droopy was my left eye lid and left under eye.

I kept going to work, swollen eye and taking allergy meds to help.  I kept waking up in a panic expecting my left side of my face to droop.

December 13 - I headed to urgent care on the weekend because my tingling arms were getting worse and my eye was still droopy.  I saw a very kind doctor who consulted a few people there and confirmed she thought I had early onset Bell's Palsy.  She started me on some anti-viral medication and strong steroids for a few weeks.  She said every case of Bell's Palsy is different so she couldn't tell me if I'd get worse, if my symptoms would last 2 weeks or 2 months.  Some people require physical therapy to get better, acupunture for some and then others just have a mild case.  We'd just have to wait and see for me.  She said I made the right call to come in and not ignore my symptoms.  I might have teared up because it had been a stressful few days of googling my symptoms.

Side note: I have a complicated history with Shingles (I've had them 3 or 4 times on the back of my neck on the left side) and I had a fever blister on the left side a couple weeks prior to this tingling started.  She urged me to visit the doctor ASAP in the future should I have any Shingles/Bell's Palsy type symptoms so I can get on an anti viral medication and steroids ASAP.

A week later I followed up with my primary care doctor to do a full panel of blood work, medication check and general well check as a second opinion.  All of my test results came back with great news and she confirmed that I had a mild case of Bell's Palsy - where I just have tingling and very little drooping.  I didn't even know that was possible, but now I do.

My symptoms ended up lasting for about a month.  I had numbness and tingling in my face and arms for about the whole time.  My neck was stiff and sore for most of that time.  My eye swelling and drooping got better.  I never ended up with major face drooping and was able to work and carry on with life pretty normally.  I'm so thankful I had a mild case.

So all this to say, if you ever have similar symptoms, head to the doctor ASAP to figure out what's going on and get on the right meds for you.  Catching it early will ease the symptoms and shorten the life of your symptoms.

Report Card Rewards

The kids all brought home great report cards for the last quarter and were eager to get some report card rewards.  We found some local lists to work off of.  They have all reall enjoyed collecting rewards for good grades.  Some places count the As, but so far they have all just stamped the repord card for their standard report card rewards.

So far we've been to:

Coldstone for a free kid's scoop

Krispy Kreme a box of 6 free donuts per report card

Hobby Den - a free pack of character cards

These are next on our list:

Chick-Fil-A - free nuggets

Dairy Queen - free mini blizzard

Qdoba - free kid's meal

Bob Walthers - free round of mini golf

Culvers - free kid's meal

& GD Ritzy's several rewards based on As

Where else should we go for report card rewards??

12 Ways to Save Money During the Holidays

I don't know about you, but it's an expensive time of year at our house!  The kids have been invited to lots of birthday parties, holiday events, work events, holiday food, parties and Christmas shopping.  It all adds up quickly.  I have some money saving ideas for you today.  I hope it helps save you a little money this month.

1. Clip fresh things from your yard to bring inside for holiday decor.  I have two beautiful holly bushes and I can't wait to trim some for Christmas.

2. If you go out to dinner, save your leftovers for lunch the next day.  I ordered the never ending pasta bowl meal at Olive Garden and couldn't finish my second bowl.  I boxed it up for an easy lunch the next day.

3. Teachers or room moms, if you need help, ask for it!  I know this won't apply to all teachers or won't work at all schools, but if you have parents who are willing to help, ask them for help.  We have snack time every day and my snack stash was running really low after passing out extra snacks to kids who forgot their snack.  I mentioned it in my weekly newsletter and parents were SO generous to restock my snacks.  It saved me tons of money and I was so thankful for the help.

4. Cash in your food rewards!  I have apps to all of our favorite food spots and instead of going to buy food, I'll shop my rewards.  I got a free coffee thanks to rewards points here!

5. Say YES to hand me downs.  Leo's current favorite slippers were a gift from a friend.  We don't get tons of hand me downs anymore, but I love when we do.  I also try to pass on favorite pieces to friends with younger kids.

6. Learn how to groom your pets to save money.  I'm the nail trimmer and cat groomer at our house.

This also applies to the people at our house.  I run my own family hair salon and it saves us at least $100 a month when I cut the boy's hair at home.

7. Pay attention to prices as you are checking out!
Walmart has been especially bad with this on clothing lately.  We got these snow boots for Fletcher.  They were marked $24.98 and rang up $29.98.  I was watching closesly, caught the error and my cashier was able to fix it right at the register.  I've noticed many clothing items at Walmart don't have prices on them so read the signs, scan in the app and know the prices you are paying.

8. I mentioned above to get all the food apps to your local favorite spots.  I love earning rewards to places we go to regularly.  One of my favorite money saving apps that I've been using since 2020 is Fetch.  It's the easist way to save.  You link your email, connect your Amazon account and it'll scan your emails for receipts.  You earn points from grocery purchases, Amazon purchsaes and more.  The rewards add up pretty quickly.  I always cash them in for Amazon gift cards or Starbucks gift cards.  It's a free app and you can upload your receipts one at a time with a simple photo or link your email accounts.  Either way works to earn rewards points.

I have a referral code if you are interested.
Turn basically anything you do into gift cards with Fetch. Earn at stores, restaurants and shopping online. Even playing free games. Download Fetch with my link or use code C8K71 to get a bonus when you submit your first receipt.
https://referral.fetch.com/vvv3/referralqr?code=C8K71

9. Splurge on fun things at Costco for dinner instead of going out to eat.  We grabbed these Crab Cake Minis at Costco for $19.99, made $5 worth of sides at home and ate a nicer meal for $25.  Going out to eat costs us about $25/plate so this Costco dinner splurge still saved us tons of money.  We really enjoyed these crab cakes in the air fryer.  I assumed they came with the dipping sauce, but they didn't.  Next time I'll make sure to make my own sauce to go with the crab cakes.

10. Compare prices.  If you are tempted to grab something in store, check the price at Amazon, Walmart or Target to see if you are getting a good deal.

For example, Fletcher loves these funny food socks.  They are $1.25/pair at Dollar Tree.  I looked for some more options on Amazon and I could get a six pack of food brand socks for $30.  That's much higher than Dollar Tree.  I just stopped in a couple different Dollar Trees to collect some socks for his stocking instead of overspending on the Amazon ones.

11. Read your credit card statements very carefully this time of year!  We just finished resolving a scam issue on one of our credit cards.  It looked like we were buying a lot of things - 45 different things - on itunes when we had only authorized 2 itunes purchases.  We caught it about the same time our credit card company did, but we had to double check accounts and call to dispute those charges.  They were all under $10 so it took a bit to flag our account as getting scammed.  Especially since it was listed as a shop that we purchase from.

12. Shop your closet first!  I know the matching family Christmas pjs are darling, but do you need them?  This year, two people in our family did not need any new Christmas pjs so we only bought pjs for the people who needed them.  Same thing with dress up days at school - we have elf day, candy cane striped day, Christmas sweater day, etc.  I'm shopping our Christmas closet first and will fill in the gaps as needed.  Try not to get pressured into buying holiday apparel to wear for the next 3 weeks.  I bought the kids each one new holiday sweatshirt and then we are using what we already have on hand for the other holiday things that pop up.

Happy Shopping!  I hope you find some great deals this season!

Connecting with Your Teens in the Drive Thru

I don't love spending money in drive thrus.  But my kids LOVE it.

They love trying new foods, trying the new flavors of the season, eating their favorites and picking out the food they love when we're out and about.  So I spend money in drive thrus to connect with my teens (or almost teens).

Saturdays are the days we run errands and sneak in some extra fun during the school year.   We take care of important things like groceries, do returns and squeeze in some fun.  I have apps to our favorite spots to earn rewards.  I also save gift cards I get from students or coupons that we get at school to cash in with the kids.

Example 1 // Chick Fil A

Cherry Berry Lemonade.

Free Sandwich Coupon from filling out a survey.

Free fries with my app rewards.

Sandwiches.

Mac & cheese.

Nuggets.

Fletcher heard that adding Chick Fil A mac & cheese to the original Chick Fil A sandwich was amazing so he tried it out.  He gave me a scoop and it was tasty.  We both enjoyed it!

Our drive thru is bananas, but the curbside pick up is fast.  We opted for curbside.

Example 2 // Dunkin Donuts for an afternoon snack.

Iced mocha.
PSL.
Pumpkin loaf.
Pumpkin Donut.
Earned reward points on my app.

Example 3 // Surprise Starbucks

Kevin loves to surprise Olive at the bus stop with her favorite a PSL.

I challenge you to find your kid's favorite spots and treat them to their favorite foods when you are hanging out together. Your kids will love it!  And it might just become one of your favorite teen traditions.

School Lunch Ideas

I'm still packing lunches every day for myself and all three kids.  Their likes have changed a bit over the years and they have new favorites.  I thought I'd round up some lunches from this year to give you ideas of things your kids might enjoy in their school lunches.

We are still loving our Yumboxes.  Olive changed up her lunch box to something better suited for older kids.  And the boys still enjoy using Yumboxes.

It still brings me great joy to pack "hugs from home" lunches for the kids to enjoy in the middle of their school days.  I know that they feel extra love and care in the middle of their days so it makes the grocery shopping and lunch packing all worth it.

I'll highlight the favorite foods in each photo.

Mini Reeses

Nut Butter Bars

Babybel cheese

Pasta salad

Sharp cheddar cheese cubes

Turkey pepperoni & turkey sausage sticks

Homemade treats- Pumpkin bread
Dried mango
Reese's Pieces
Apple sauce pouches

Nectarines
Gummies
Kiwi
Blackberries
Sweet peppers

S'mores snack mix
gummy worms
cold pasta
Takis
mini muffins
crust free PBJ

Apple cider donuts
Peanut butter crackers
Sunchips

Crunchy veggies
Bobo's strawberry stuffed oat bites - we love the apple pie flavor and the strawberry!

And a stuent gave me these super cute lunch note pads.  The kids have loved them!

What do your kids love to have in their lunches?

4 Boy Sleepover Tips

Fletcher loved planning the details of his sleepover with me.  He added groceries to my cart, stocked his mini fridge upstairs and we talked through fun things to do while his buddy was here.

I have a few tips for you to ensure you have a really fun sleepover with boys.  It was different than the girl sleepovers we've hosted.  They like to chat, craft, bake, watch a movie, sing and do skincare.  Haha.

Tip #1. Buy LOTS of food.  They love to try new flavors, try anything that's gone viral on youtube and buy more snacks that you think you might need.  I checked with his mom to confirm any allergy/food issues before buying snacks.  They loved trying these snacks.  The Shaq gummies were HUGE and a hit.  They decided this new release Lunchly flavor was gross and so were the Glow Up Sour Patch kids.  The Takis, Doritos, other gummies and chips were good.

Tip #2: Air soft or Nerf guns.  Kevin set up some targets and we had a fun time shooting them.  We were extra careful.  We tried to do a good mix of playing outside and playing games/watching movies inside.

Tip #3: Outside games.  Olive ran a little volleyball game followed by a game of knock out where they threw the ball to the group and whoever caught it got to throw it the next time.  I provided the snacks and Kevin was the fun Dad outside playing all the games.

Tip #4 Big breakfast.  They stayed up later than usual.  Then woke up to a breakfast of bacon, eggs and dinosaur/car waffles.  I confirmed the menu the night before and made sure we have time before it was time for him to go.  If everyone leaves quick, I'll do something quick like donuts or make muffins.

They had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Be the Chaperone

I've had some fun opportunities this summer to be the mom chaperone.

Olive knows that if she checks my calendar and we pick a date that works for us, I'm happy to chaperone plans she makes with her friends.

That looks like her coming up with a plan with her friends - the fair, the mall, movies or sleepovers - and then she'll ask me for dates that would work best.  They text to work out the details and I put it on our calendar.  It's been a really fun way to get to know her friends better and for her to ensure that she sees her friends outside of school.

They agreed upon plans ahead of time - amount of money to bring, goal to try to find something matching for back to school, time frame, as well as the pick up/drop off plan.

They strolled through their favorite stores.

Some shopped more than others.

They each had specific things they were looking to buy.

They tried on clothes and did a lot of laughing + window shopping.

I helped pick out a birthday gift for one of their moms.

We laughed at ridiculous items for sale.

Some paid in cash, card and Apple Pay.

We shopped at the candy store.

And I didn't lose a single girl!  The mall was crowded so that was a relief.  Lucky for me, they were an easy group to keep up with and they didn't mind me hanging out with them.  I think they appreciated my help calculating sale prices and then they'd run things by me since their mom wasn't there.

We headed up for a treat at our house and then the girls got picked up.  It was such a fun afternoon together.  I loved hearing about their excitement and anxious feeling about starting junior high.  They are sweet, responsible girls and I'm so thankful for their friendship.  Olive has been friends with some of the girls since we moved here in 3rd grade.

So my encouragement to you is - volunteer to be the mom chaperone when your kids want to make plans with their friends!

Only Buy What You LOVE

We have been trying something new that has been a game changer.

Only buy what you LOVE.

It is something that I started doing and then introduced it to Kevin and now the kids.

We apply it to everything - shoes, toys, home decor, thrifted items and Amazon purchases.

Think you purchase over, try it on and then only purchase it if you LOVE it.  If it's a little too tight, a little too short or the clothing doesn't fit you perfectly, then pass on it.

I adored this orange top from TJ Maxx.  I wanted to purchase it so badly, but it was pretty cropped and wasn't lined.  I was thinking of ways to layer it or alter it and no matter what adjustments I came up with, I realized that it just didn't work for me.  Now I'm inspired to be on the hunt for a similar citrus top that works for me without any changes.

I also really wanted to like the flowy pants in the background.  BUT they were both very see through and would require special underwear to make them work.  I passed on all of them even though I really liked the idea of each piece.

Kevin and I have been weeding out our closets to make sure we only hang on to things we love.  I have been consigning tons of stuff from all of our closets.

It's been great to see the kids thinking through this concept.  Do I love this toy?  Do I really love this book or this shirt?  If they do, then we will purchase it.  If it's just okay then we think about it.  They will add things to their own Amazon wish lists and think it over, read reviews and spend their money wisely.

You'll have to give this a try - only buy the things you love and then you'll be surrounded by things at home and in your closets that you LOVE.

Surprising the Kids

We are having a great Summer.  Sometimes the simplest things are my kid's favorite parts of our day.

1. I've been cashing in all of my rewards and gift cards to do fun things with the kids this Summer.  The kids had never tried Nothing Bundt Cakes before.  They noticed the s'mores flavor of the week... maybe month?... and wanted to try it.  One day we were in the area so I surprised them with getting to pick out their own flavor of bundlet.  I think the lemon was the yummiest, but we all enjoyed our flavors.

2. We don't eat out a ton so eating in a restaurant or trying a new restaurant is so fun for the kids.  Kevin was out of town for several days and I surprised them with a dinner at Hacienda.  They wanted to try their version of chicken on the beach (chicken, rice and white queso cheese).  I got guacamole for us to share and we had the best time eating out together.

3. Surprise them and let them each order their own thing.  We'll often times share or split fun treats, but this summer I have let the kids order their own thing.  This was delicious frozen hot chocolate in Santa Claus, IN.  They got a straw to share a sip with me and then they enjoyed the rest on their own.  Each of the kids got to pick out their own special candy treat from the Candy Castle, too.

4. I have also tried hard to just say YES to requests that are easy to grant.

Can I play fortnite with my school friends?
Can I go over to my friend's house this afternoon?
Can you play volleyball with me?
Can you play puzzles with me?
Can we make pumpkin cookies today?
Can we stay up a little later tonight?
Will you have a slumber party on the couch with us tonight?
Can I add a couple things to our grocery pick up list?
Can Olive babysit us?
Can we go to the library today?

YES!

I challenge you to surprise your kids with something fun this week!

School Day in the Life: PreK, K, 3rd and 6th

We juggled a lot this year!  We all had to make changes to our routines and schedules and day to day life to make life work with two working parents.  Many of you know the juggling and scheduling required!  I wanted to document a school day in our life with us at three different schools mostly so I could remember what life was like my first year back to teaching.

A PBJ for me on the days when I just couldn't handle packing one more lunch or fixing one more meal.

5:45am My alarm goes off.  This is easily the worst part of going back to work :)  My night owl tendencies struggled to adjust to this early morning wake up call.  Time for me to get ready.

6:00am Fletcher's alarm goes off and he's ready to tackle the day.  He gets ready fast and is downstairs quick every day.  No wake up call necessary.

6:15am I'm done getting ready for the day.  Time to start breakfast for everyone - usually oatmeal - then wake up the house by opening curtains and turning on lights.  Fill 8 water bottles and assemble 4 lunch boxes.

6:30am Wake up Leo.  He is not a fan of any wake up plan.  Mornings were easier on the days he woke up on his own.  That only happened about half the time.  We all eat, the kids have some screen time and then we get ready to leave for the day.

6:50am Wake up Olive.  She prefers a mom wake up vs an alarm.  We said goodbye to her and to Kevin and we headed to school.

7:20am I eat a protein bar in the car and chat with the boys.  We arrive at school with the boys.  Drop off Leo to before school care to play with his buddies and head into school with Fletcher.  Turn on lamps, lights, log into all the things and be ready to greet my students at the door.

7:30am School starts!  Fletcher helps out in my classroom for a few minutes, chat with my students and then heads to his class.

7:30-3:05 TEACH non stop.  I did everything from morning meeting, read alouds, phonics and check class work.  Then my kids go to specials and I plan.  I tried to get as much work as possible done during my plan, my recess breaks and my lunch every single day.  We're lucky to have two recesses and a full time assistant to keep life in K running smoothly.  Then I handle dismissal for my class and walk to pick up Fletcher at his class.

3:10pm Close down my classroom for the day.  I'd wrap up and tidy up all the things.  Fletcher would pass out morning work for the following day, put up the question of the day and eat a little snack.  Once my room and desk were all clean, we'd head out.

3:30pm Pick up Leo.  We'd walk in and grab him from after care.

4:00pm We got home to Olive!  Some days we were early enough to meet her at the bus stop, some days Kevin met her at the bus stop and other days she handled drop off on her own.  Every day was different.  That was true for most things in our life.

4:15pm Smoothie and snacks for everyone!  I'd grab an iced coffee for myself and catch up on socials, emails and any last minute work things that needed attention before tomorrow.

4:45pm Prep dinner, work on homework, let the kids play

5:30pm Dinner time.  We eat dinner together most every night.

6:00pm Clean up dinner, pack 4 lunches for the following day and tidy up the downstairs.  More time for the kids to play upstairs, outside or with friends.

7:00pm Hit the showers, finish the homework, watch a show and relax.

7:30pm A little snack for everyone before bed.

7:45pm Start bedtime routine!  Bible with Kevin.  Snuggles with mom.

8:30/9pm Kevin and I hang out and chat about our days.  Finish all the things that didn't get done earlier - dry dishes, pack snacks in backpacks for 3 kids, lay out backpacks and every single thing we need to walk out the door in the morning.  Each kid gets a pile.  Shoes, backpacks, jackets, homework, important items, etc.  Different pile of lunch boxes and water bottles on the counter so that I can fill them in the morning.  Sometimes the kids help with laying everything out and sometimes I do it all after they go to bed.

Kevin heads to bed.  I work on blog things and enjoy the quiet house for a minute.  The house gets picked up and cleaned up every night before bed.  The kids help with their stuff and their zones.

11pm-ish I head to bed.  Always wishing it was earlier, but that never happens.  5:45am always came too early.

We did it!  We all learned to do new things and new skills this year.  Yay for us :)

Weekend in Louisville Favorites

Kevin planned a fun Mother's Day getaway for our family to Louisville, KY.  It's 90 minutes from home and we had never spent any time there.  We had a busy weekend - baby shower, Kevin's student's graduating, restaurant grand opening and a trip out of town!  I'm glad he puts the fun in our family.

We grabbed all the touristy brochures when we arrived at our hotel.  We quickly realized there was a lot ot do in Louisville!  We did plenty of fun things and have a long list of things to do on our next trips.

We had Mother's Day brunch at Wild Eggs.  The wait was an hour which felt about right for a holiday.  We ran an errand or two while we waited for a table.  The food was so good!  Everyone ordered something different and loved it.  The french toast was outstanding, omelets and pancakes were so good, we all loved our bacon and the staff kept the place running so smoothly.  It was perfect for families of all sizes.  We will go back!

We found a park nearby - Brown Park that was just lovely.  The weather was perfect.  There were walking trails, goose food dispensers (bring quarters!) and a really fun playground.  It was such a nice, clean park in the middle of the city.

Olive made me a new bracelet stack in my school colors with my favorite things - smiley faces!  She was so sweet to sneakily make them at home, wrap her gift at home and then pack it in her suitcase for me to open on the trip.

We checked out the outlet malls.  Every store you could think of was there.  The mall is huge and we had a great time checking out the horse art, play spaces and shopping options.  We found fun things at Simply Southern, Vineyard Vines, GAP and more.  There were still Kentucky Derby themed things at every turn.  Leo loved spotting these painted horses.

We had Starbucks on the patio.  The kids insisted I tried a Strawberry Lemonade Refresher.  It was really good.  I rarely splurge on fancy coffee drinks so it was a treat to try a few new drinks this weekend.  The weather was just perfect.  We enjoyed murals around town and loved seeing all the sights - cool bridges, the Ohio River, murals, baseball stadiums and more.

We found a Trader Joes.  We don't have one in our city so we brought a cooler to stock up on favorites!  We spent $100 and came home with tons of yummy food for the week.  We can't wait to go back there again soon.  Stay tuned for a Trader Joes round up post!  Leo was worn out after a long day and insisted on riding in the cart.

We headed downtown for dinner at a Brazillian Steakhouse called Brazeiros.  It was fancy and kind of disappointing.  We loved trying a new kind of restaurant with the kids, but Mother's Day crazy price hikes, not very flavorful meat + a sparce buffet of food options for the kids left us feeling bummed.  We would not recommend going back on a holiday or with kids.  The kids were troopers trying all the meats and sides.  Kevin would tell you that the highlight of our very pricey meal was his Kentucky Bourbon flight.  Our family would recommend finding a different restaurant to try if you are downtown.

Leo ate carrots and ranch and loved the meat tongs.  He played with those and kept asking for french fries.  We should have come home with the tongs since he definitely did not eat enough to cover his bill.

The art downtown was neat to see.  The kids often call Leo "Fishy" so this was cute.

We had hoped to do more, but we ran out of time.  Lousiville quickly became a favorite spot for us!  We are excited to go back to see the zoo, do some more shopping, go see a baseball game, walk on the pedestrian bridge, watch the trains and try some new restaurants.

I hope you have a great weekend!
