Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  I hope you've had a nice week.  It's been a regular week with lovely weather here in the Midwest.  We did lots of routine things.  Did you catch my blog posts this week?  There were some really good ones!

Must Make Pork Carnitas - You've got to try this $13 pork!

Tips for Exercising with Your Kids - come read about our exercise routine.

Best Chapter Books for Kids in 2023 - I rounded up our very favorite chapter books for 1st graders and 4th graders and everyone in between.  I guarantee there is a book for every reader in this list!

Now on to the highlights of my week!

1 // Family Walks

The weather is getting nicer and the sun is staying up longer so we started our evening walks again this week.  It's so fun to get out and enjoy time outside together.

2 // Builders

The boys have been busy building this week.  Fletcher loves the Picasso Tiles and was thrilled to make a castle to stand in.  Leo loves making Duplo towers.

3 // Coffee Cheers

Olive makes herself a caramel latte.  I make a mocha iced coffee.  The boys run around like wild.  Win-win for everyone.

4 // School lunches

We're hitting a good groove with school lunches.  The kids always love a little something homemade along with all of their usual favorite foods.

5 // Wild Weather

We had ran, storms, sunshine, clouds and wind along with hot and cold temps this week.  We had weather warnings last night and talks of school delays/early dismissals/changes for tomorrow.  Stay safe if the wild weather is threatening your state!!

6 // Lost a Tooth

Fletcher lost another tooth this week - goodbye front baby tooth.  His smile is already starting to change and make him look older.  He was so excited to write a note to his tooth fairy Frankie.

7 // Great Grandmas

Leo and I were lucky enough to see both of his great grandmas this week.  We popped in to say hello and grabbed lunch.  We love these two so much!  One keeps skittles and candy bowls around for him and the other has surprises in her purse like slime.  We're lucky to have them both!

8 // Cookie taste tester

I tried out a new oatmeal cookie recipe and Fletcher is always happy to taste test for me.

9 // Toddlers are crazy!

Leo is the funniest, busiest boy.  He's always doing things to make us laugh - bucket head, insisting on carrying a gallon of milk for me and hiding in our snack pantry.

10 // Organizing

This is probably only exciting to me, but I've been busy working on unpacking, organizing and decluttering our upstairs.  I'm working through the upstairs family room, toys, office and bedroom.  I have a growing donation pile.  My trash cans seem to be full every week and look at all of these empty boxes.  Yay.  Leo plays upstairs while I'm working on this project.  It feels so good to be getting some more breathing room in these spaces.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'll see you back here on Monday.

  2. Those buildings are impressive! We used to try and spend time with each of the great grandparents each month when my boys were growing up (all the greats have passed on now) and I am always so grateful my boys got to spend time with them all.
