Princess Cays Island

We woke up anchored down next to Princess Cays private island.  It is such a small island that it doesn't have a port.  You anchor down nearby and then ferry boats take you to and from the island.  It was so cool!  On our side of the ship it looked like we were in the middle of the ocean and then the other side had a great view of the island.  The ferries were running back and forth all day and the quick trip to the island was gorgeous.  It's so fast that you don't have time to feel motion sick at all.

We got off our ship early and had no trouble getting on the first ferry.

I mentioned before that Kevin did all the planning so everything on the island was a surprise to us!  We hopped off our ferry and took a family photo.  I took one for the family in front of us and then they took ours.  Then we headed to check in for our cabana.  The island was beautiful.

Time to check into our bungalow.  The island was gorgeous!  We walked past shops and food stands.

Hello, cruise ship!

Kevin had read that the beaches were rocky so we came prepared with water shoes.  They ended up being a mix of sand and rocks.  We both wore our water shoes the whole time.

Bungalow 8 for the day!  We had AC, towels, floats, snorkel gear, drinks, ice and lots of snacks and our own outdoor shower.  There was a comfy couch inside and comfy chairs on the porch.  We had enough yummy food here that we could skip the long food lines when it was time for lunch.  We opted to eat all of our snacks and then grab food when we got back on the ship.  That gave us extra swim time since we weren't waiting in long food lines.

Island Leo.  He kept saying, "I love The Hamas!"  No matter how many times we said Bahamas.  It wasn't very crowded on our end of the island.

The kids convinced me that I had to try snorkeling to see all the cool fish.  I had never snorkeled before so I gave it a try.  It was really cool!  I'm glad I did it.  The kids were naturals and snorekling came so easy for them.  Kevin had done it before so he was a great teacher for them.

Again, I was thankful to have Leo's life jacket with us.  He swam and did all the things with the big kids.  He loved collecting and playing with cool rocks that he found.

We loved seeing our ship in the background of all of our adventures.

Big rocks on each side of our beach access.

Fletcher was very good at snorkeling.  He caught on quickly and he can't wait to snorkel again.  The salty water helped us to float.  He saw tons of cool fish.

Leo's body guard at your service.

All of the rocks were so neat and filled with so many interesting things.

I love seeing all the local plants.

Pack his bags and send him somewhere that he can snorkel 24/7.

We LOVED Princess Cays and couldn't have asked for nicer weather.

Another great excursion, Kev!  He planned all the details perfectly.  Take us back anytime!

  1. Carnival Cruise line has something similar for their private island, Half Moon Cay. It was honestly one of my favorite port days. We had to ferry to the island and it was just beautiful and relaxing! We stayed in the water for over 6 hours that day. How nice to have a bunalow while on the island!!
