Babies Don't Keep

I keep coming across things that remind me again and again that
BABIES DON'T KEEP

I know this to be true.
It's exciting to see your little one grow up and learn new things,
but there's a part of me that misses each stage as we leave it behind.
Olive is doing new things every day - learning new words, new skills and doing new tricks.  She's so much fun to watch and I feel like she's growing up at lightning speed.
She's thriving and doing so well.
I want to focus my full attention on her sweet little self
because she is my most important work.

A bloggy friend posted this last week and I found myself boo hooing at the computer screen.  It's silly, but I know all moms can relate.

I promised myself that I would do my best to hold Olive when she wants to be held, snuggle her when she's feeling snuggly and do my best to savor every moment of her being little.  Let her sit on my lap, rock her a little longer than usual and look into her eyes when she wants my attention.  I want to look back on these days of her little life and say that I held her as much as possible, I spent as much time with her as I could and that I truly enjoyed our days together.

Babies really don't keep so savor every moment with your littles!!

  3. You and I share so many similar sentiments! I love this. I do try to make good use of every second with Olivia. I got a lot of people telling me I was spoiling her by holding her so much, but now she doesn't want to be held! The only thing getting me through that post above is the fact that we want more children. I can't imagine it ever being over for good. Makes me want to stop time!
