November Coffee Chat

Hello!  Grab your breakfast and your favorite drink and let's catch up!

1. Have you found any leopard jeans that you love?  Do you have any loafers you love?  Send me links!

I tried on some at GAP and Target and didn't love them.

2. My December book club book is On a Quiet Street.  Have you read it?

3. What are you buying your teen girls, about 10 year old boys and 5 year old boys for Christmas?  I have started my Christmas shopping, but could use some new ideas.  As the kids have gotten older, it's hard to buy things very far in advance.  Lots of places have a 30 day return window so I try hard to make sure that my gifts are exchangeable if needed.

4. How are your college football teams doing this season?  Notre Dame had a rough start, but the playoffs seem bright for them.  And Indiana University becoming a football school was never on my radar.  It's been so much fun to watch my team shine in a new sport these past two years.

5. What has been the best gift your little kids made for you when they were in school?  I'm making plans for my kindergarten Christmas gifts to parents and would love some fresh ideas.

6. Give me all the tips about getting passports for yourself and your kids.

7. RIP to the days when chocolate chips were affordable.  I need to watch for some Christmas sales or ask Santa for some Sams bags of chocolate chips for Christmas.

8. Have you ordered your Christmas cards yet?  I went through Walgreens online, stacked several coupons and am hoping I love them when they arrive.  I'm super proud to get them ordered early.  Hopefully, I'll also get them sent out early.

9.Are we ready for Elf on the Shelf??  I've been collecting fun things for our elves.  We don't do advent calendars, just fun things for the elves December 1-24.  I'm hoping Olive will help me a little this year.

10. Orange cats are the sweetest.  I said what I said.  We've had two - Topher & now Pumpkin and they have both been such loving, sweet cats.

What's new with you??  What's on your mind with the upcoming holidays?  Let's chat in the comments!

  1. I found leopard barrel at Gap Factory. I wanted elastic waist and drawstring. The jury is still out on barrel! Check out Hush Puppies for loafers.
For the passport for kids, you have to make an appointment and go to the post office. You have to have original birth certificates. You can get passport photos taken at Walgreen's and sometimes at the post office, too. Check on the official government website - make sure it's not a non-gov bc there are some that try to charge you more or expedite. Allow 6 weeks for the passports to come in. I am renewing mine now and I can do that totally online! Woohoo!

  2. Regarding the passports, my advice is just to follow all the online instructions to the T and reserve a post office appt asap. When I did my kids last time, we had to send the birth certificates in and that made me nervous! Would you believe I'm not doing Christmas cards this year? First year ever in my adult life! I bought some Good and Gather choc chips at Target - good quality and pretty good price. If you're going to use a lot, the Sam's bag is definitely the cheapest. Hope you're having a good week.

  3. Passports! How exciting! We always go to the courthouse because they have a lot more appointment slots than our local post office. But I *think* it does have to be the county seat courthouse FYI.
I am with you on the orange cat train! Although our black kitty, Chip, will always have my heart, he's my baby! But Georgiana is hilarious and so much fun. She is definitely a spicy spicy gal!
Good for you for getting your Christmas cards done! We are traveling for Thanksgiving and I really wanted to get my order in before we left but we will see if I manage to do that!

I will keep my eyes open for leopard print jeans. Those would be so cute on you :) let us know if you find any good loafers. I want some too, but the ones that I *really* like are at J.Crew and more money than I want to spend 🤪
