Worth Reading

A little round up of the best things I've read lately...

Olive loved her water table when it was HOT out so I'm thinking she'd love this spin on it: A RICE table - great idea from Abby at Fearless and Laughing that I'm going to try out on our patio ASAP

Enjoy a really inspiring post titled I can do hard things by Stephanie Nielson.  She's such a sweet mom and her life is an inspiration.  Her fashion is amazing and so is the new home she's just decorated.

My friend Kelly at Love Like Crazy just hosted the cutest Fall party - A Pumpkin Beer Tasting Party!  I'd love to host a pumpkin taste testing event and taste all kind of pumpkin treats and drinks.  She even had a table for all the kids with special treats for them.

I want all of these Fall Outfit Favorites from the Style Expert at Come Home for Comfort.  I can't wait for oxblood, plaids and scarves.

Several great tips for encouraging young readers from Elise Cripe

13 Habits of Highly Effective (and Sane) Stay at Home Moms from Popsugar that really seem to apply to ALL moms.

A great article titled Why Our Family Doesn't Limit Screen Time by Lets Lasso the Moon.

I enjoyed this back to school article about treating everyone with compassion by Momastry

Katie at Cup of Tea did a post sharing her 3 Secrets to the Perfect Pie Crust and I can't wait to try them.  I've been anxious to bake a pie ever since watching her and her mom bake together.

I'd love to read this book that Andrea from Momfessionals recommends called Praying Circles Around Your Children

I just received a copy of Goodnight, Manger by Laura Sassi to review.  It's a sweet picture book that tells the story of Baby Jesus and his parents trying to put him to sleep in the manger.  They are lovingly interrupted by the barn animals, choirs of angels.  Everyone is excited to meet the baby and make sure he's comfortable in the manger.  The illustrations are sweet and kids would enjoy pointing out all the animals in this Christmas story.   Overall, I liked her book Goodnight, Ark better than Goodnight, Manger.
*I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review of it.

Have you read or written anything great?

  2. I have colored rice before it put it in a shallow box and hide toys and my little guy likes to dig for the treasure. It's a great way to keep him busy while I cook, make phone calls or even finish a book ;)

  4. Oh what a great idea - rice in a bin! That would be tons of fun. I'm thinking fun little plastic animals from the Dollar Tree tucked in there. Or rocks! And thanks for featuring my pie post! It was such a fun post to do with my mommy :)

  7. You are so sweet! It was so easy to throw together, you should definitely host one. I think you have another month to figure out your (husband's) favorite pumpkin beer! Haha. But you could have everyone make a pumpkin themed food, dessert, etc. I know you could come up with some great recipes. I love your skirt! And I think the rice table is a great idea. Was wondering what to do with Olivia's water table - and how cold is too cold to let her still play in it. I'm opening each of these articles in new tabs to read right now. I always love your recommendations.
